2 Postdoctoral Positions in Ultrafast Optics
The Ultrafast Photonics and Lasers group is seeking candidates for two postdoctoral positions. The first position is on development and applications of novel fiber and nonlinear optics techniques to optical clocks as well as next-generation accelerators currently under construction in Europe. Prospective candidates should have a PhD in a related field, experience with lasers and a strong background in RF electronics. Prior experience with frequency metrology techniques is beneficial.
The second position is on development of powerful ultrafast fiber laser oscillators and amplifiers for medical applications based on novel ideas for nonlinear pulse shaping. Prospective candidates should have a PhD in a related field, with a strong background in lasers and optics. Prior experience with nonlinear optics, solitons and ultrafast pulse propagation and firm theoretical background is beneficial.
Prospective candidates should be able to work alone, as well as lead and organize group efforts consisting of several graduate students. The positions are supported through a Marie Curie IRG and a TUBITAK 1007 project. Appointments are initially for one year with possibility for extension for a second year. Salary is competitive and dependent on degree of experience.
