Postdoc Fellowship ‘Developmental perspectives on the self’, University of Copenhagen

The Danish National Research Foundation: Center for Subjectivity Research invites applications for a two-year postdoc fellowship in the area of subjectivity research with special focus on developmental perspectives on the self.

The Center for Subjectivity Research is an interdisciplinary center of excellence under the directorship of Professor Dan Zahavi. The fellowship is open to applicants coming from a variety of disciplinary backgrounds. Projects incorporating both theoretical and empirical perspectives will, other things being equal, be preferred. The concrete research plan is supposed to be finalized in collaboration with the interested parties at the Center.

The Center´s research on developmental approaches to self-experience involves collaboration with Philippe Rochat from the Department of Psychology at Emory University, Atlanta, USA. During the employment the postdoc is expected to spend at least a few months at Emory.

The deadline for application is May 5, 2008. The expected starting date of the position will be the fall of 2008.
The application, which should be written in English, must contain

A project proposal with a full description of the suggested research project. The proposal should not be longer than maximum 12,000 taps (typically 5 pages of 2,400 taps) including spaces and notes, but excluding the list of references; the total number of taps must be indicated at the end of the project proposal.
A CV of not more than 3 pages.
PhD assessment committee?s provisional or final evaluation or documentation of equivalent qualifications.
If relevant, a PhD Diploma.
A list of publications - publications should not be enclosed; the evaluation committee may ask for copies if needed.
No special application form is used.

The recipient of the fellowship will be employed in accordance with the current agreement between the Ministry of Finance and the AC (the Union of Academics in Denmark).

The Dean of the Faculty will appoint an assessment committee. Upon receipt of the report of the committee, each applicant will receive the specific portion of the committee´s assessment pertinent to him/her. The applicants will only be assessed in relation to the announced position.

Applications are invited from qualified candidates regardless of age, sex, race, religion or ethnic origin.

The application must be sent in 6 copies to The Rector of the University of Copenhagen, The Faculty of Humanities, Njalsgade 80, DK-2300 Copenhagen S, by May 5, 2008 at 12:00 (noon), with reference to the Journal number 211-0163/08-4550.

No enclosures will be accepted after the deadline.
