Reg .no. 617-0960-08

The Bert Bolin Climate Centre (BBCC) at Stockholm University announces one research scientist position for 18-24 months. The successful applicant will work with observed and modeled sea salt aerosol emissions, atmospheric distribution, ice/snow deposition and interaction between sea salt aerosols and climate. Sea spray emissions will be parameterized and introduced in a General Circulation Model, which will be applied for different climate scenarios.

Desired background of the applicant:

- Ph.D. degree in atmospheric science/meteorology/atmospheric chemistry/atmospheric physics/environmental science/glaciology/climatology or similar.

- Good knowledge of sea spray source processes, aerosol modeling, and/or experience of large scale atmospheric numerical modeling.

- Documented capacity to work interdisciplinary, to collaborate but yet work independently.

- Good skills in spoken and written English and proved capacity to write peer review papers.

The position is hosted by the Department of Applied Environmental Science (ITM), but is a collaboration between scientists at ITM, the Department of Meteorology (MISU) and the Department of Physical Geography and Quaternary Geology (INK). The post doc will work in close collaboration with the new research project GRACE (The Greenhouse Arctic Ocean and Climate Effect of Aerosols) and with researchers and Ph.D. students within this project.
