The Robert B. Bailey Scholarship Bachelors Degree

The Robert B. Bailey Scholarship is intended to promote participation in the International Study Programs CIEE individuals or members of groups that have been traditionally under-represented in study abroad, especially students from ethnic minorities. Applicants are asked to specify the group to which they belong and which they consider to be under-represented in study abroad.

These awards are named in honor of Robert B. Bailey III, a former member of the CIEE Board and professor of sociology and director of studies abroad at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls.

Eligibility
Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • The applicant must participate in a study program abroad EISC
  • The applicant must self-identify, in the Declaration of scholarships personal, as belonging to a sub-group

Selection
Applicants are evaluated on the basis of information provided in the request for a scholarship and fellowships test application form and financial information, financial need, academic performance, and application of the curriculum. Under the scholarship essay, students should identify the group to which they belong and believe to be under-represented in study abroad. Students must also explain how membership on that factored into the decision to choose the program and / or destination of study. In addition, the scholarship test should explain how, as a member of a subgroup, the applicant plans to incorporate international experience in future academics, community, professional, and extra-curricular activities.

Awards
The awards vary but are usually made in the amount of $ 500. The award will be implemented at the request of the CIEE program fee.
